Packaged Automotive Program
The Automotive program contains three Australian Nationally Recognised qualifications that must be completed in sequence. The qualifications are:
1. Certificate III in Light Vehicle Automotive Technology
This is a trade qualification where an individual will learn to perform multiple tasks on various light vehicles in the automotive retail, service, and repair industry. You will learn how to inspect, service, and repair various vehicle systems: brakes, engines, fuel, exhaust, ignition, suspension, driveline, electrical and more.
2. Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis
With this qualification, an individual will learn advanced diagnostic tasks in the automotive retail, service, and repair industry. Those undertaking Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis must have completed an automotive mechanical Certificate III qualification.
3. Diploma in Automotive Technology
During this qualification, individuals learn to diagnose, analyse, evaluate, design, and modify vehicle systems in the automotive retail, service, and repair industry—building on their Diagnosis training from their previous experience and qualifications.
Entry Requirements
The Automotive Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology program requires prospective students to have completed the following to ensure success in the course
- Have completed high school (Year 11 equivalent) and passed
- provide evidence of English language scores*, EILTS 5.5 or PTE 45/ OET/ CAE equivalent; please see Australian Department of Home Affairs - English Language Requirements Page
