Registered Nurses deliver nursing care to patients suffering from various conditions, including infections, metabolic disorders, and degenerative diseases that necessitate medical intervention across diverse health, aged care, and community environments.

Here are some of the responsibilities of Registered Nurses in Australia

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and social health.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients.
• Safely prepare, administer, and monitor medications, including intravenous therapies
• Provide wound care, including cleaning, dressing, and monitoring for infections.
• Regularly monitor patients’ vital signs and respond to changes in their condition.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and ongoing care.
• Advocate for patients to ensure their needs and rights are respected.
• Offer compassionate care and emotional support to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medications and treatments.
• Communicate critical patient information during handovers or care transfers.
• Promote healthy lifestyles and preventive care through patient education.
• Support patients in managing chronic health conditions and long-term care plans.
• Mentor and supervise junior nurses, nursing students, and healthcare assistants.
• Make informed clinical decisions under pressure, particularly in emergencies.
• Ensure compliance with professional standards and confidentiality laws.
• Identify and mitigate risks to patient safety while contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Entry Requirements

Prospective students must be of high ethical nature, showing empathy and care; the following will also be required:

• Have completed high school (Year 12 equivalent) and 65% or more in each subject
• Provide evidence of Proficient English language scores*, IELTS 7 or PTE 65 + / OET/ CAE equivalent. 
• Upto date Vaccinations and immunisations

All candidates must meet the accreditation and have their skills assessed by The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC)
