Packaged Cabinet Making and Timber Technology Program

The Cabinet Making and Timber Technology program contains Two Australian Nationally Recognised qualifications that must be completed in sequence; the qualifications are:

1. Certificate III in Cabinet Making & Timber Technology

Individuals with this qualification have expertise in manufacturing and installing timber and other material products, like furniture and cabinetry. They gain skills in tool use, measuring, drawing (including CAD), interpreting documentation, and preparing cutting lists, along with communication, teamwork, and sustainable practices. The 92-week training program includes 48 weeks of classes,  24 weeks of practical placements, and 20 weeks for breaks or reassessment tailored to student needs.

2. Certificate IV in Building Project Support

Pursuing Certificate IV in Building Project Support at Orange College equips you with essential skills, such as preparing estimates based on predetermined rates, processing subcontractor claims, and drafting head and subcontracts for construction projects.

This qualification is tailored to facilitate a specific occupational outcome pathway. To engage in construction work, individuals must complete the general construction induction training program outlined by the Model Code of Practice for Construction Work. Successfully finishing unit PCCWHS1001 fulfils this requirement.

 

Entry Requirements

The Cabinet Making and Timber Technology program requires prospective students to have completed the following to ensure success in the course

  • Have completed high school (Year 11 equivalent) and passed
  • Provide evidence of English language scores*, EILTS 5.5 or PTE/ OET/ CAE equivalent. Please see the Australian Department of Home Affairs - English Language Requirements Page
*Some countries are exempt from English requirements.
